All applicants who have demonstrated their eligibility and language skills will be invited to the entrance examinations. Applicant who is not a citizen of an EU/EEA –country must provide proof of his/her English language skills by the end of application period to the admissions office of his/her first preference polytechnic/UAS.

You will always sit your entrance exam in the school that was your first choice in the joint application, thus if Rovaniemi is your first choice, then you will come to Rovaniemi for the exams.

The maximum points awarded for the entrance examination is 100 points. The entrance examination results of those applicants who are admitted on the basis of the total of points for school performance and the entrance examination are automatically scaled down by 0.7.

The minimum score for a passed examination are:
business 30/100, tourism, catering and domestic services 30/100 and technology, communications and transport 30/100

The entrance exam consists of a written part (an essay, multiple choice questions, tasks of applied mathematics and logic) and a group discussion. The exam essay and multiple choice questions will be based on pre-reading material that the applicants must study before coming to the entrance exam.


Pre-Reading Material 
The International Business Entrance Exam 2012 is based on the following pre-reading material.
The applicant must read the material carefully before coming to the entrance exam.
The applicant cannot take this material to the actual entrance exam and the material is not available for the applicant during the actual entrance exam.

There will be an essay and multiple choice questions based on this pre-reading material. Part of the entrance exam interview may also cover themes of the reading material.

Content of an exam:
The entrance examination includes a mathematics and physics / chemistry (candidate can choose) test as well as a logical deduction skills test. There will also be an English language test for applicants not exempted from the language test.

EXAMS ABROAD - COOPERATION WITH THE OTHER UAS

Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences (UAS) organise entrance exams abroad in cooperation with the so called FINNIPS network (Finnish Network for International Programmes). Rovaniemi UAS will invite applicants who have demonstrated their eligibility and language skills by the set date to participate in the entrance exams in the countries listed.

Applicants applying from these countries will get detailed information of the exam in the invitation letter.

To make up their mind about which 1 - 4 degree programmes to apply for, applicants can check which degree programmes in Finland accept the entrance exam of each other on the website of the Finnish National Board of Education, please visit.

At the same site applicants can also check which Universities of Applied Sciences/degree programmes arrange entrance exams abroad and in which countries, please visit.

EXAMS IN EMBASSIES

We are also providing the possibility to do your entrance examination in the Finnish embassy in your home country. Most of the embassies are in cooperation with us but this possibility is not guaranteed in all countries. However, keep in mind that embassies will charge a certain amount of money for their services (50-400 € per candidate) that will have to be paid by you. Coming to Rovaniemi for the exams is always free of charge but you will have to cover your own travel costs.

The embassies in question will be informed to the applicant.
