Computer services and usernames

As an open university of applied sciences student you have access to RAMK’s student computers in the computer rooms and hallways during the campus’s open hours. In addition, the Rantavitikka Campus has a learning centre where you can study outside of open hours.

As an open university of applied sciences student you will receive a RAMK username for the duration of your studies, which gives you access to the following services: e-mail, Winha student register, Optima learning environment, remote access to library databases and access to RAMK’s workstations.

Student register
Open university of applied sciences students and their record of credits are entered in the Winha student register.
Library services

As an open university of applied sciences student you have access to RAMK’s library and information services.

The library contains books, magazines and newspapers in both printed and electronic form. You also have access to videos, CD-ROMs and important databases.

Financial aid and students’ social benefits

Financial aid is not granted for open university of applied sciences studies because they do not lead to a degree. For this reason, open university of applied sciences students are not eligible for students’ social benefits.

Open university of applied sciences students usually pay for their studies themselves. If you are studying with the intent of developing your professional skills, you should talk to your employer about the cost and the possibility of studying during your work hours.
