International Activities
Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences (RAMK) students have the possibility to gain international experience abroad, both studying and doing practical training. You should prepare the exchange very carefully because the exchange process contains many arrangements already in advance. Students plan their international exchange at the beginning of their studies and carry out the exchange on the second or third year of their studies. Studying abroad develops your language skills and cultural knowledge and it also gives you international competence for your future career.
Students can have financial support for their exchange studies in the form of different grants but each student planning exchange must be prepared to finance some part of the exchange themselves as well. Studies or training abroad has to be well planned so that your studies adhere the compiled study plan and the studying/training done abroad will be fully approved as part of the degree programme at RAMK. You can have more information and hints on studying abroad from the exchange study reports that are located at the international coordinator of your campus and the International Relations Office. The reports are for everyone to read. More information about exchanges abroad can be found on pages “studying abroad” and “training abroad”.
In addition to international exchange RAMK offers many possibilities for internationalisation at home. In RAMK we have three degree programmes and one specialization studies programme in English. We also offer many language studies and international visiting lecturers. In RAMK we also arrange different kinds of international events, such as theme days, seminars, information sessions and other events. You can become internationalised at home by being an international student tutor for incoming international students or by participating the Finnish Friend programme.
For more information about International activities you can get from the international coordinator of your campus and at the International Relations Office (please, see Contact Information).
