Education in Foreign languages and international atmosphere

RAMK offers many possibilities for internationalisation at home such as education in foreign language, international events, international tutoring and the Finnish Friend programme. In RAMK we have three degree programmes in English: Information Technology, Innovative Business Services ja Tourism. In addition RAMK also offers studies in foreign language among others in the form of International Project Management specialization studies, different language and cultural studies and international visiting lecturers.

Our university has a very international atmosphere. RAMK has international degree programme and exchange students from over 40 countries. We welcome international visitors and motivate our staff for active exchange. RAMK also arranges different kinds of international events, such as theme days, seminars, information sessions to students and staff as well as to different co-operating partners. International student tutors

RAMK students have the possibility for internationalisation at home by working as student tutors for incoming exchange students. The main tasks for international student tutor are welcoming the exchange student when he/she arrives, familiarizing the student with the surroundings and study practicalities as well as and arranging events such as evening get-togethers, cottage week-ends, trips and events. Finnish Friend Programme
 

Each semester RAMK and University of Lapland arrange together Finnish Friend activities. The Finnish Friend Programme starts in September and in January, but you can also enroll later. Programme gives families an opportunity to familiarize themselves with international students, different languages and cultures. Respectively students have the chance to familiarize themselves closer with the Finnish culture and everyday life.
 
Families interested in the Finnish Friend Programme should be willing to let international student to participate their everyday duties at home. Family’s size is irrelevant - we welcome all interested to participate the Programme. After the first collective meeting family and student keep in touch independently depending on their schedules and resources. The Finnish Friend family should not offer the student accommodation or financial support. For more information and enrolment form are down the page.
