Cross-cultural Develepment Course (3 US credit hours / 6 ECTS)
The Cross-cultural Development Course is divided into three different topics from which students can choose one according to their field of study:
Health Care and Social Services Case (3 US credit hours / 6 ECTS)
Business Case (3 US credit hours / 6 ECTS)
Technology Case (3 US credit hours / 6 ECTS)
In addition there are three other special courses available for the participants:
Nature Trek in Lapland (1 US credit hour / 2 ECTS)
European Union Course (1 US credit hour / 2 ECTS)
Russia as Business and Co-operation Region (1 US credit hour / 2 ECTS)
Study method
The main modules are implemented by using the method of solving the problems in multicultural groups, formed of 6-8 students. The students work mainly with their own themes, and report their assignments using a virtual eLearning environment, Moodle. See the link to Moodle and the instructions below.
There will be teacher-tutors from SAMK, RAMK, and the American Magellan universities guiding the working student groups.
Prior the arrival in Finland students will orientate themselves with the course contents by completing a precourse assignment in each course they have chosen. The assignments will be submitted via the eLearning environment prior the arrival in Finland and used as a basis of the learning during the summer school.
Pre-course assignments
The pre-course assignments will be available on 1st March 2012. These assignments must be returned to the Moodle learning environment no later than 30th April 2012
